ModelRelay (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the ModelRelay API gateway and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect information such as your email address and, if you sign in with a third-party account, basic profile information from that provider. Payments are processed by our payment processor; we do not store full payment card details.

Usage information. We collect information about how you use the Service, such as which models and features you use, request metadata, token usage, costs, and technical information needed to operate and secure the Service.

Request content. The prompts, files, and other content you send through the Service, and the responses returned, pass through our systems so we can deliver them. We do not retain this content by default. Some optional features store content for you when you choose to use them, such as response caching, stored state, and stored generated images; that content is kept only as long as the feature requires.

Customer data. If you use the Service to serve your own customers, we process the customer identifiers and usage information you provide on your behalf.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

Provide, operate, and improve the Service
Route requests to AI providers and choose models when you ask us to
Calculate usage, bill you, and enforce limits
Secure the Service and prevent fraud and abuse
Communicate with you about your account and the Service
Comply with legal obligations

AI providers. To fulfill a request, we send its content to the AI provider that serves it. We may also use AI services to help route a request, and may send a request to another provider of the same model if the first one is unavailable. The providers we use, and each provider’s data practices, are listed on our models page. Providers handle content under their own terms.

Service providers. We use third-party service providers for things like hosting, data storage, networking and security, error monitoring, and payment processing. They process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their services to us.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of ModelRelay, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Retention

We keep account information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We keep billing and usage records as long as needed for accounting, tax, and legal purposes. Operational logs and metrics are kept for a limited period. Request content is not retained by default, except as described for optional features above.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at privacy@modelrelay.ai. We may need to keep certain information, such as billing records, where the law requires it.

7. International Transfers

We are based in the United States, and information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

9. Cookies

We use cookies needed to sign you in and keep the Service working, and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy here and change the “Last Updated” date.
